PRAYER (Part-1)

The word prayer seems to be a natural activity in our spiritual life. It’s a part of our daily routine where we pour out our daily needs and sorrows before God. We might have learnt it by observing our parents or by observing the practice followed by the church leaders. The question is, is this enough? Is this the way that God wants us to pray? I have seen people wrestling in prayer but it turns out to be a lost battle. People sometimes loose faith because of unanswered prayers. What they are told and what they have received has deceived them. Some turned away from the faith and some feel depressed. This is a serious situation where we need to understand, what prayer really is? And most important how to pray? In the Old Testament we see sacrifices, rituals and other religious practices as part of prayer, we do not see a perfect example of prayer. But the New Testament provides us with the perfect example. The Author, The Finisher and The Perfecter of Faith. The Alpha and the Omega who has come and who is to come, The visible image of the invisible God. All things were created by Him and for Him, Our messiah and Our Yeshua, that is Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the only person in the Bible who taught us to pray and had a prayerful life. Old Testament introduced us to a God to pray to and in New Testament Jesus Christ introduced us to a Father to pray to. Praying to a Father is entirely different from Praying to God. Even today people struggle to recognise what Jesus Christ has taught, they Love praying to God rather than the Father whom Jesus Christ has given us the access to. Jesus Christ became THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE for us to have a complete relationship with our Father in Heaven.

Jesus Christ said “But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” This is what the New Testament prayer is all about, it is simple to hear but not simple to experience. It requires the most unique relationship with our Father in Heaven that can not be attained through any intellectual wisdom or knowledge or any kind of experiences. Having a relationship with this Father demands us to become a part of Father. No religion can make it happen, no ideologies can make it happen even any isms will fail.

God of Old Testament sent His only begotten Son Yeshua, that is our Lord Jesus Christ in the form of man but not born of man but born of the Spirit of our Father in Heaven to fulfil all His commandments in the old testament and to introduce God as our Father in Heaven for those who are chosen by Father God through Christ Jesus before the foundation of the earth. Today the Spirit of our Father God is enabling us to go through the same process. Let me make it simple, receiving Jesus Christ as your saviour is the only way through which we can become children of Father God. It demands repentance of our flesh, it demands carrying our daily cross and following Christ Jesus through a narrow gate and a crooked path. This is not everyone’s cup of tea. This privilege is given to those who are chosen by Father God through Christ Jesus.

Prayer is between our Father in Heaven and those who are chosen to call God Abba Father through Christ Jesus. Prayer is the link between the chosen and the Father. We are called to imitate Jesus Christ the first born out of death and the first born of the Spirit of Father. Like Jesus Christ we now have the help of the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit we are part of spiritual flesh and spiritual blood and the body of Jesus Christ the CHURCH. The only begotten Son of Father God, through Christ Jesus we call God of the Old Testament ‘Abba Father’ in the New Testament. And to Him we pray not as God but I call Him my Father in Heaven and I thank Jesus Christ my Lord and saviour for this beautiful transition.

How do we pray to our Father in Heaven?

We the children of Father God need to pray like our Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ was poor in Spirit that shows we also need to be poor in Spirit. Matthew chapter 3:5 says like this, ‘Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.’ Being poor in Spirit represents our dependance on Father God through Christ Jesus. If we look at the life of Jesus Christ we can see His life is the perfect example of dependance on His Father. The moment when you recognise your complete dependance on Father God, like Jesus, your disposition will change. It’s not about prayer, it’s about everything in you, it’s about you being a new creation. Father will have dominion over your thought process. On the way you will discover you have the mind of Christ. The mind of the new creation. When you have the mind of Christ your prayer is all about Father God. Your spiritual emptiness will be no more. There you will recognise it is not you who pray but the Spirit of God who is in you that prays. You will allow the new creation to grow and you will decrease. A day will come you will experience the fullness of Jesus Christ. Beloved, you are a new creation, not born out of the desire of the flesh but born out of the desire of the Spirit of Father God thus becoming children of God. Allow the new creation to pray. You should understand your greatest weakness and that is, we don’t know how to pray. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for, but the Holy Spirit prays for us through groanings that can not be expressed in words. All this happens because Jesus Christ is our intercessor before our Father God.

The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew chapter 6:9-15)

So then, this is how you should pray:

‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.

Let your Eye be single

I would like to share a word of God which I was meditating, can you imagine a situation where Jesus Christ is inside your home, he is with you and you are hearing his voice, you are seeing him, you are sensing him and he is so real in your life yet you are troubled.

Are you going through such a situation then this message is exclusively for you. Let me tell you, Jesus was with his disciples, he was resting on the Boat and the sea was violent, Jesus was with them but they lost their peace. They were asking Jesus to save them, they thought they are going to end right now. Still Jesus was with them. On another side when we see another situation that is of Martha, she invited Jesus into her life, into her family and there we can see she was complaining to the Lord. Because she was troubled and she was careful concerning so many things. Jesus was inside her home, Jesus was talking to everybody who was inside her home, she was hearing. Because of her Jesus Christ was inside her home but she was troubled.

Dear people of God are you a chosen vessel of God! then you and me are not allowed to be troubled with other things, Martha was troubled, disciples were troubled. Dear people I want to remind you another verse from Matthew 6:22 “The light of the body is the eye: If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” Word of God clearly says, your eye has to be single, your vision has to be single, your thought has to be single, your act has to be single. You cannot serve two masters at one time, what really happening in our life is we are serving two masters at one time, we are serving household master and our heavenly master it’s not the will of God it is not heavenly principal it’s not part of Kingdom of God.

Why you are getting troubled? because your eye is not single, you are not setting your vision on one thing, you are setting your vision on several things. Dear people of God are you troubled? If I ask people they will say so many prayer request, I’ll pray but do you know something you are troubled because your eye is not single, your vision is not single, you are troubled because you are thinking about many things, you are concerned about what to eat? how to be? What to be? When to be? You are troubled about tomorrow. Dear people tomorrow will be taken care by the Lord himself. Jesus Christ lives in you, allow him to look after your life. One thing I want to tell you no matter how troubled you are you are not going to get any solution until and unless your vision is on Jesus. In other words, you have to have a single eye that is what the Bible says.

The light of the body is eye, therefore thine eye is single so that the whole body shall be full of light. Do you want light in your life? Then your eye has to be single. You have two eyes but during morning if you want to see the Sun, then you should focus your both the eye on Sun. “There is a source for everything, we are concerned about resource but resource will flow from the source.” Jesus Christ is your source, he is your living blood, he is your living bread, he is your alpha, he is your Omega, you are chosen in him so that day will come you will stand in the presence of Father blameless and full of perfection that is not yours, his perfection and the Earth is a training ground for God’s perfection in your life. For having God’s perfection in your life let your eye be single.

Poor

Can you imagine the mind of a person who possess great wisdom, who enjoys abundance of wealth and power. The most unbelievable part is, He is still “poor.”

what will be His mind?

what will be the driving force behind His attitude?

Have you come across somebody like Him?

Before you come to a conclusion I want to shed more light on you concerning Him. He is the cause for your existence, all things were created by Him, all things were created for Him, without Him is noting. He is the beginning and the end. But the unbelievable part is He is still “poor.” Do you know Him? Now a question will arise, why is He poor? He is not poor but He became poor. He was in the form of God and did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a slave and coming in the likeness of man and being found in appearance as a man. He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the cross, and that is our Jesus Christ.

You will not find a substitute for Jesus. He is incomparable, His love is immeasurable, His grace is sufficient, He gives peace above all understanding, He is the most trusted personality ever walked on planet earth. His intention of being poor was to make us rich towards the relationship with God, through Him we call God, “Father God.” He became so poor He has given His body and blood for us and made us His body. He became the Head, He became poor so that we will abide in Him, He became poor by abiding in Him we will abide with God the Father. Now are you able to understand His mind? If not it is time for you to have the ‘Mind of Christ’ it is time for you to think through the perspective of Jesus Christ. He became so poor and became the gateway to the true God and made us through Him ‘Children of God’. He is the only begotten Son who became the first born through the death and resurrection. The question is, are you poor like Jesus? Do you have His mind? the Mind of Christ!
