Stay Alert in Christ

Stay alert, stand firm in the faith, show courage, be strong. Everything you do should be done in Love. (1 Corinthians chapter 16: 13 & 14)

This word of God reminds me of the image of an army man who is at the war front. But the difference here is, that this soldier has to perform everything in Love. This soldier has no weapon but Love of Father God which is available through Christ Jesus. The grace of Jesus Christ is highly abundant in this soldier, and the companionship and help of the Holy Spirit is always available for him. That is what we are; a chosen generation called to proclaim Father God through Christ Jesus. Standing in the midst of wolves like a lamb, crossing the crooked path and narrow gates carrying the cross daily. And forcefully establishing the Kingdom of God. Not by might, not by power but everything in Love that is in Christ.

Why should we stay alert?

We are like the wise virgins who took lamp with the oil. Matthew Chapter 22:42 says, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come.” Again, I say you are in a mortal form and you are exposed to temptations. Therefore “watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew chapter 26:41) That is not enough, our Lord taught us in prayer; lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all the evil. Why do you pray this? you have to make sure you are standing firm in the faith. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians Chapter 5:1) Therefore, show courage and be strong all you hope in the Lord. “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of gospel I preached to you, which you received and in which you stand firm.” (1 Corinthian chapter 15:1).

For this reason I say, Stay alert, stand firm in faith, show courage and be strong. Everything you do should be done in Love.
